# Introduction

Astrolescent is a decentralized exchange aggregator that finds the best rates across multiple exchanges to swap, bridge, or set limit orders.

Astrolescent is a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator on the Radix network that provides you with the best trading routes for your swaps. By analyzing all leading DEXes, Astrolescent ensures you get the optimal price, maximizing the number of tokens you receive. For larger trades, the algorithm splits up trades across multiple DEXes to minimize price impact, further enhancing your returns.

By using Astrolescent, you automatically participate in the weekly airdrop, and by staking its token, $ASTRL, you receive a share of the fees generated by Astrolescent’s aggregator, bridge, limit order, pools, and validator node.

# Team

Astrolescent was founded by Timan Rebel and Meronym in 2021, but is currently ran by Timan.

The Astrolescent team's path to building on Radix is a story of teamwork, smart moves, and seizing opportunities.

### Timan Rebel

Timan Rebel, a seasoned startup founder with over two decades of experience, is the driving force behind Astrolescent's operations. With a background in software development, Timan founded his first startup at the age of 24 and has since been a prominent figure in mentoring and investing in startups in Amsterdam.&#x20;

His proficiency encompasses frontend development, analytics, and online marketing. Notably, he's recognized within the Radix community for his adeptness at pairing each opportunity with a fitting Taylor Swift gif. Timan's foray into the world of crypto commenced three years ago, leading him to contribute to projects like Astrolescent, DefiPlaza, and HUG.


# Fees

### Swap

No fees are charged when *swapping* on Astrolesent. We add a small fee when third-parties that use our APIs or trading widgets add their fee.

### Bridge

A 0.1% fee is charged when using the cross-chain bridge.

### Limit Orders

A 0.1% fee is charged when adding limit orders.&#x20;

However, traders can earn fees by providing liquidity on Astrolescent. This means placing limit orders that aren't immediately matched on the orderbook. Once the order is eventually matched, the liquidity provider receives a fee of up to 0.35% of the trade's value.

This means it is possible that a negative fee is "charged" when creating the limit orders.

### Utility

#### Staking

All of the profits of Astrolescent will be used to buy back ASTRL and will be deposited into the staking contract. &#x20;

The expected staking APY based on 3 million staked ASTRL is 10% to 15% yearly.&#x20;

At the start of each quarter, an overview of all the earned fees and the direct operating cost of the previous quarter will be published. The profit share for ASTRL stakers will be converted to ASTRL via the Astrolescent aggregator (bought on the market) and distributed linearly over the 12 weeks of the new quarter at a random day and time each week to prevent gaming of the staking system. This should ensure tokens stay staked over a longer period.&#x20;

The distribution of the fees will start on January 1st, 2024, with the distribution of the fees earned in Q4 2023.&#x20;

#### Voting

ASTRL and sASTRL can both be used to vote on governance votes by the AstrolescentDAO.

ASTRL has a total of 36 million tokens, after burning 64 million tokens in early 2023.

#### Distribution

**Airdrops**\
12,000,000 is reserved for monthly airdrops up to 100,000 ASTRL per month to incentivize the usage of Astrolescent products for 10 years.

2,000,000 ASTRL is reserved to refund lost tokens as a result of bugs and edge cases during the usage of Astrolescent products for up to $2000 per incident.

The additional supply of tokens will be used for special occasions.&#x20;

**Team**\
Up to 100,000 ASTRL will be distributed among the team members of Astrolescent each month for 6 years.

**Marketing**\
The 2,000,000 tokens will be used to run marketing campaigns

**Operating cost**\
The operating cost of Astrolescent will be funded from the revenue generated.

#### Locking

The tokens that are not needed during the present year will be locked with RadLock in October 2024.&#x20;

If vesting is available in time on RadLock a vesting schedule will be created to automatically unlock airdrop and team tokens each month. Otherwise, the tokens will be locked until October 2025 and relocked with a vesting schedule afterwards.


# sASTRL token

$sASTRL is the *Pool Unit* used to hold staked ASTRL and can be redeemed for ASTRL on <https://astrolescent.com/staking> or in the future directly via the Radix Mobile Wallet.

# Airdrops

There are currently two ways supporters of Astrolescent are rewarded: [Providing Liquidity](/astrolescent-docs/tokens/rewards/providing-liquidity) and [Validator Staking](/astrolescent-docs/tokens/rewards/staking).

Besides doing Airdrops, we share 100% of our profits with[ ASTRL Stakers](/astrolescent-docs/tokens/tokenomics#staking) weekly, so stake your airdrop rewards to receive more ASTRL automatically!

The staked XRD amount may be weighted linearly or non-linearly to guarantee a smooth distribution of tokens.


# Getting started

### Onboard onto Radix

Before using Astrolescent, there are three things you’ll need, if you are not already familiar with the Radix network:

1. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to download the [Radix Wallet](https://wallet.radixdlt.com/)
2. Have enough XRD in your Radix Wallet to conduct simple transactions and pay fees, $10 should do it; you[ can buy XRD quite easily](https://www.radixdlt.com/token).
3. Have your mobile device and laptop/PC with you to perform and authorize transactions.&#x20;

### Connect wallet to Astrolescent

Connect your Radix Wallet by clicking on the Connect button in the top right corner:

# Swap

Swapping tokens is the core of Astrolescent. Simply select the tokens you’d like to sell and buy and enter the amount. Astrolescent automatically analyses the best possible trading routes to give you the best possible price. Without any additional fees!

### How to Swap tokens

When you have selected the chains, tokens, and amounts of your choice, you need to connect the wallet of the chain you are selling from by clicking on the **Connect Wallet >** button. Astrolescent supports a wide variety of wallets, from MetaMask, Rabby, and Brave to WalletConnect, Ctrl, and of course the Radix Mobile wallet.

For some tokens on Ethereum or other EVM chains, you may need to approve the spending of the tokens because of how the EVM chains operate.


# Advanced Settings

The bridge uses a set of sensible defaults to make trading as easy as possible for the average trader. We do however offer some more advanced settings.

### Optimize swap for

By default, we optimize swap for the best price and not for the fastest execution speed. To get you the best price, we may use something called Streaming Swaps from Maya and Thorchain.

#### Streaming swaps

Streaming swaps break up your trade into smaller bits that are executed over time. By default one part is executed every 5 blocks, which is about a minute, and the network automatically calculates the amount of parts to get you the best price.

It can happen that part of the transaction does not meet the slippage that you set, and that the price you want for the trade is not met. Without streaming swaps, the whole transaction is canceled, but with streaming swaps only the parts that fail are refunded. So if you get fewer tokens than expected, check your original wallet account to see if any refunds happened.

### Slippage

To protect you against large price fluctuations you can set the maximum slippage you want on the trade. By default, this is set to `3%`, but you can choose `1%`, `3%`, `5%` or even `10%`. The bigger the slippage, to more likely it is the trade will succeed, but you can get up to the slippage percentage less than expected.

### Transaction Priority Fees

When network congestion occurs on a chain, transactions might fail. To get your transaction executed you can set higher priority fees. We set the priority fees to `Fast` by default, to get a good balance between transaction fees and succeeded transactions. If you know what you are doing, you can lower or increase the priority fees.

# ASTRL Staking

Astrolescent has a unique feature where 33% of its revenue is shared with people who stake their ASTRL tokens. The estimated APY is around 10% and is paid out on a weekly basis into the staking contract. This way the amount of ASTRL you have staked is slowly increasing and you get back more ASTRL then you put in.

To unstake ASTRL click Remove Stake to go to the unstake page.&#x20;

## Prices

## Swap

Calculates the optimal route for a given input and output token and the number of input tokens

Swap accepts as POST parameters:

* `inputToken` as token address&#x20;
* `outputToken` as token address
* `inputAmount` in 10^1, not 10^18&#x20;
* `fromAddress` as account address
* `feeComponent` the component address of an instantiation of our fee component, to capture your own fees
* `fee` the percentage fee (0.01 is 1%)

On swaps made via our API we take a 0.1% fee, or 30% of any fee you set.

We have developed a custom fee component that we might be able to offer to our partners to insert their fees into the manifest as well. Contact us to see how we can best offer this to you and integrate it into our API.

# MCP

Connect Astrolescent to your LLM or AI Agents

Most LLMs are pretty isolated and have a hard time executing actions or fetching real-time information. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) fixes that. It gives the LLM or your AI Agent the options to interact with external services like Astrolescent. To fetch the latest price of $ASTRL for example, or the current staking yield. Or even to fetch a quote to buy 1k ASTRL.

### Tools

An MCP server consists of several tools you can call from your prompt. All our tools return both a `raw` variable containing the JSON data from our API and a `text` variable that is human readable and helps the LLM to more easily interpret the `raw` JSON data.

#### Price

Returns the current price in XRD and USD, including the 24H and 7 days differences.

**Example**\
`Hey, use Astrolescent to display the current price of ASTRL in XRD.`

#### Quote

Returns a quote to swap token A for token B, including all information needed to make the swap afterwards if you're an AI agent.

The quote tool has 3 operations: `buy`, `sell`, and `swap` . When you buy, the sell token is automatically set to XRD and we try to predict how much XRD you need to sell to get to the wanted amount, and when you sell, you're buying XRD.

#### APY

Returns the current APYs for ASTRL staking, and the ASTRL rewards for staking on our validator node and providing liquidity on DefiPlaza.

You can use our remove MCP server by adding it to Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf or any other tool that currently supports adding MCP servers. Unfortunately, none of the current web interfaces support MCP.

# Swap Widget

We offer an easy-to-integrate swap widget that allows Astrolescent to be integrated directly into your website.

You can add our swap widget by simply adding the following code to your website:

#### Setting defaults

The swap widget supports setting a selling and buying token and a default amount by adding it to the URL.

* `from`: the resource address the widget is selling
* `to`: the resource address the widget is buying
* `amount`: the amount of tokens that will be sold
* `feeComponent`:  address of your fee component address
* `fee`: the fee you'd like to charge, `0.01` = 1%, `0.003` is 0.3%

# Validator Node

Astrolescent operates a Radix validator node named **“Astrolescent”**.

The validator fee is **5%**, resulting in a competitive base return from Radix network staking rewards.

To further incentivize delegation, Astrolescent distributes approximately **2% annual rewards in ASTRL**, paid weekly. These ASTRL rewards are funded from the Astrolescent **airdrop budget** and are intended to boost validator participation.

Validator fee income is treated as part of Astrolescent’s overall revenue. Any resulting profits are shared with **ASTRL stakers**, in line with the Astrolescent token model.
